CVN-81 will be USS DORIS MILLER

The Acting Secretary of the U.S. Navy announced that CVN-81, the next ship in the Gerald R. Ford class of super carriers, will be named USS DORIS MILLER, in honor of a cook who won the Navy Cross for manning machine guns on board the USS West Virginia at Pearl Harbor.
